Henrik Jensen takes over Kalmar FF

Kalmar FF has found its new coach.

Henrik Jensen, 37, has taken over the Allsvenskan club.

– When the negotiations ended, everything seemed fine, Jensen tells the KFF website.

After the success at Kalmar FF, coach Henrik Rydström moved to Malmö FF. Now KFF has brought an alternative. 37-year-old Dane Henrik Jensen took over the Allsvenskan club.

– With Henrik Rydström opting to break his contract on November 17, we immediately began the task of finding a new head coach for Kalmar FF. A mission we never expected to come when the series ended on November 6. But football can be like that, Jürgen Pettersson, Kalmar’s sporting director, tells the club’s website.

“our first choice”

Jensen recently came from a stint as an assistant coach at FC Midtjylland. The KFF’s sports director explains why the 37-year-old was selected.

– In the final selection made by Kalmar FF, Henrik Jensen became our first choice for the position. It was a quick but thorough process and the dialogue with Henrik was constructive and good from the start. As everyone understands, many pieces of the puzzle must be put in place before an agreement can be signed by both parties. Now something has happened, says Jürgen Peterson.

agreement until 2025

The new Kalmar coach is happy with his move from Denmark to Sweden.

– When the negotiations ended, everything seemed to be very well. All sides handled the process in a good way and got a good finish in Midtjylland too, he says.
