New York. Over 70 Swedes have made it through the final phase of thinning out and they’ve been around right from the start when the next night’s National Hockey League kicks off in earnest.
Overnight, all 32 of their NHL clubs were supposed to announce their premiership teams, and many, but not all, have done.
Therefore, it is somewhat unclear exactly how many Swedes have cut out a shirt for themselves. Among other things, no one yet knows if Anton Strelman, who played under a trial contract during pre-season, will allow him to continue at Boston – or how Edmonton will deal with defender Philip Broberg.
