After three seasons at HV71, Fredrik Forsberg is now extending the contract through the 2024/2025 season.
– There are few players in the SHL with the goal scoring ability as Fredrik Forsberg and he showed it during his three years at HV71. He’s a player who can turn the game around and we’re glad he chose to continue at HV71,” says sporting director Kent “Nubben” Norberg.
The 26-year-old right striker came from Leksand to HV71 after two seasons at Beck Karlskoga.
He is two younger brothers of Nashville Predators star Philip Forsberg.
– HV71 is close to my heart and that’s where I want to be. Frederick Forsberg says I look forward to staying at the Assembly and City and enjoying every time I play at Husqvarna Garden in front of our amazing crowd.
New acquisition offer
Jönköping did previously with striker Åke Stakkestad from HV71 and head coach Tomas Montén from Linköping.
It is also evident that Eric Martinson, Taylor Mattson, Andy Meili, Tyler Wiesel, Chad Billins and Kali Malahti will be leaving the team.
Newcomer HV71 took 11th place in the SHL championship and took three points from the SM playoffs after a successful end to the season.
