There were many tears of joy over the weekend.

TV4 profile and sports journalist Ida BjörnstadMarried, 36, of love and NHL star Matthias Ekholm32. Over the weekend, they said yes to each other during a party in Dalarna and among the many guests were other “Nyhetsmorgon” colleagues Anna Brolin, Maria Forsblom and Rania Shimon Olson.

When Aftonbladet arrives at Edda Björnstad after the wedding, she tells us about the great happiness.

– It feels so great and there have been so many emotions these days. We had a really small wedding during the pandemic because we live in the States, but to be a little flexible we had to get married on paper. But we always had our eyes on this wonderful day and gather all our loved ones and do it the way we were meant to do from the beginning.

“Pinch our arm”

Ida Björnstad sounds lyrical as she describes the day and the party.

I may have never, in my wildest imagination, thought that a wedding weekend could be so magical. Matthias and I pinch our arms. We are very fortunate to have such kind people in our lives who have also been with us for a long time. I had seven bridesmaids and Matthias had six grandmothers. These are the people who have followed us since childhood. They are all like family to us and they will always be in our lives. Seeing these girls and boys standing by our side and the speeches they gave… It might sound silly, but I feel incredibly grateful and happy.

Looks like maybe they were tears of joy or tears?

– Yes I can say that. There were a lot of tears of joy over the weekend. When you have a lot of childhood friends who have been involved in your whole life, there are also a lot of stories for you to share.

‘It feels so amazing,’ says Ida Björnstad, TV4 profiler.

no honeymoon

But there will be no honeymoon.

– I wish we had it. Over the weekend, someone said it’s easier to book something with Obama than it is to book something with us. There might be something in it. First of all, we have two children that we do everything for and we try to control our lives as much as possible. Mathias also has a very demanding career and I try to work as much as possible in the TV industry in the summer when I’m at home. I’m running “Nyhetsmorgon” now and in August he’s also releasing his second “Put off” children’s book, so it’s undoubtedly a full roll.

It will be the second children’s book published by Ida Björnstad with Marie Oskarson.

– Last summer, our first book, Bit Together, was released, which deals with the passion for performance and the demands of society today. It is also evident in the game of ice hockey, that there is a very high demand which causes many children and young people to abandon the sport.

This book will be a follow up as it is also about sports.

– It’s about sports as a class issue, and it’s something I’m very passionate about. The sport is expensive, which is a challenge for many families. At the same time, it is very important to try to keep children and young people in sports. But both books are fast paced and fun and it was a fantastically fun process and I probably didn’t understand how happy I am to work with this.
