IFK Norrköping – Elfsborg: Christopher Niemann points saver

Christopher Niemann saved 2-2 for Norrköping against Elvesburg in a crazy lucky party.

The guests had put two on the crossbar and thought they should have gotten a penalty when Simon Olson went down in the closing minutes.

– Of course I think it’s a punishment, says Johan Larsson on the Discovery website.

Norrköping came out strong in the festive “125th Anniversary Match” against Elfsburg.

But after a lovely initial ten minutes, it was Elfsburg who scored the first goal. Oliver Zandin made it 1-0 through Daniel Eid’s legs. When they then dominated the 39th minute attack of dreams which ended with a direct joint from Simon Olsson to Rasmus Alm and he fired it 2-0, it was far from the party atmosphere in Norrköping.

But the player who perhaps most embodies the club now, captain Christopher “Tut” Niemann, wanted something else. Immediately after 2-0, he nodded his head down and gave life to the match.

The second half is possible

– Yes really, it gives us more self-confidence in front of others, he said during the break.

In the second half, I opened more. Chances were exchanged and in the end Norrköping equalized. Ishaq Abdel Razzaq appeared near the post and was overtaken by the goalkeeper.

After that, the controls were raised further in a match where both teams chased three points to hold onto the lead.

Jonathan Levy hit the post for Beijing and Jesper Oakels hit the crossbar for Elvesburg. The last one bounced right below the finish line and went out.

“hole in the head”

In the middle of a pistol duel, the match broke due to objects being thrown from the stands.

– It’s a hole in the head, stupid, says Norden Gerzic in the studio.

After the unplanned break, Elfsburg could have had a chance with a penalty kick but referee Frederick Kelley kept it away when Simon Olsson fell into a duel with Isaac in the penalty area.

– It’s an obvious punishment, says Norden Gerzic in the studio.

I’m a bit biased, but of course I think it’s a punishment. Not many people drop “Sim” when he’s in charge. Johan Larsson says the decision has been made and there isn’t much to talk about.

Instead, the score was 2-2 and a split pot.

– That was a great match, they both went for it but the cross was probably fair. The shading package will take 14 minutes, says Alexander Aksin at the Discovery website.

Now Elfsburg has eight points and Norrköping has nine points at the top of the table.
