– I mostly closed my eyes and shot it and then slipped it in, says the Växjö captain who couldn’t play any more because of the injury.
Växjö equalized the series at 2–2 with a 2–0 victory in Gothenburg.
Erik Josefsson was missing due to injury when Växjö was 0-0 at home on Tuesday. Tonight, in a crowded Scandinavian area, he came back and scored straight away.
Already after 2.56, Josefsson shot 1-0 to the visitors, a goal that also became the winner of the match.
– We get the disc deep, Ludde pulls a few more and puts them diagonally towards the back. I wouldn’t say I aimed well, says Josephson.
The goal was his first since February 21.
– Yes, it’s nice to be able to score. It’s been a while and it’s always been fun to contribute this piece.
But it was also among the last we saw Josephson on the ice. The injury reminded him again and he followed the rest of the match off the bench.
Is it all done to keep playing or is it a safety measure?
– It was a little bit of both…

How do you see your chances of playing on Saturday?
– I don’t know this percentage, we’ll see how it turns out. Everyone is fighting against time with many small flaws here and there.
The final 50 minutes followed Josephson from the booth rather than changing it.
– Of course it was a little tense, but you couldn’t get a better place in the audience, he says, grinning.
Why did you choose to stay in the booth and not go in and change?
– I don’t know where to go next. I’m a team member, maybe there was some change, now it hasn’t, but you’re right there with the team.
Midway through the period, Joachim Blichfeld made the final score 2-0 after a counterattack.
– It’s great that we got early wins in the game and we were able to take advantage of it. Then there’s the great fighting and toiling throughout the match, says Josephson.
