Ismael Diawara was ‘celebrated’ – he had stairs outside Tele2 Arena named after him on Google Maps

A supportive initiative by the MFF has successfully named a staircase behind Tele2’s plaza the “Ismael Diawara Ladder” on Google Maps.

Something the cup champion thinks will be temporary.

– I think it will be fought quickly, Diawara says to Fotbollskanalen and laughs.

Malmo FF They won their first and, to say the least, long-awaited cup title since 1989 at Tele2 Stadium in May.

The most famous of all was penalty kick champion Ismael Diawara, whose two saves in front of Naher Basara and Astrit Selmani were crucial.

Then, a supporter of Malmö FF, along with other like-minded people, chose to submit a proposal to Google to name the stairs behind the section of the Hammarby house “Ismael Diawara’s stairs”.

“I think it will be fought – quickly”

The proposal has now been approved by Google and the main character is laughing well at the invention.

– It’s incredibly fun. The incredible dedication of the fans to do such a thing, and the final that took place there is a great memory for me, something I will remember for life. Ismael Dewara tells Fotbollskanalen that something fun like this also makes it no less fun, it’s cool.

He thinks the name probably won’t last long.

– I think it will be fought quickly (laughs). Because it’s in enemy territory if you say so. But I think the whole thing is incredibly fun, great fun actually.

He believes that the location of the stairs is no accident.

Yes, you can probably see it as a slight mockery of them too. No, it’s more like a memory of the wonderful day we all had an MFF together.
