Eichel’s relationship with Buffalo Sabers fans isn’t the best. The 26-year-old was recruited to the club in 2015 and has spent six seasons with the team, including three seasons as captain. But last year he asked to be replaced because he did not agree with the club on how Eshel would deal with his neck injury.
Vegas became his new home for the 26-year-old and when he returned to Buffalo for the second time in his career to face the Sabers, he was booed by fans at home. They also cheered loudly from the stands when Eshel’s shot was saved.

But after 60 minutes of hockey, it was Eshel who could cheer the loudest ever. He scored three goals and one assist in a 7-4 win. He was responsible for all strikes in the third inning within 13 minutes.
– It says a lot about his character. I know people in Buffalo think he doesn’t have personality, but oh my goodness, we’ve seen what Jack really is and he’s carrying such a heavy load on us. “I know this match was special for him, and I almost got emotional just to be a part of it,” said captain Mark Stone.
The result means the Vegas Golden Knights have now won nine games in a row and Buffalo has lost their last four.
