Jack Wilshere He emerged as a brilliant talent at Arsenal after being promoted from the club’s youth team in the summer of 2008.

However, there haven’t been any major victories for Wilshere on the international football scene and now he’s putting his shoes on the shelf, at just 30 years old.

In a lengthy Instagram post, Wilshere thanks the clubs, friends, coaches, colleagues, supporters, wife and kids for support throughout his career.

“I have enjoyed every moment of my career and it has been the journey of a lifetime. Now is the time to end this chapter but I still have a lot to give to this sport and I am excited to see what the future has to offer.”Wilshere concludes his letter.

“How do I explain that?”

Numerous injuries took a heavy toll on Wilshire. Last summer, in an emotional interview with The Athletic, he said his two young children don’t even know what his job is.

However, the two older children remember his time at Arsenal.
