When New Jersey roasted the Penguins in Pittsburgh last night, he shocked the 22nd complete hit of the season with a smoky direct hit.
He then thanked fellow returnee Jack Hughes.
“Jack does a lot for our attack with his IQ, you can see that clearly on the pass to my goal,” Bratman tells Sportbladet after the 5-2 win.
After unexpected losses to Minnesota and, most importantly, St. Louis during a road trip that ended in Pittsburgh, worried Devils fans wondered if their champions had run out of steam and were about to be upset by surging opponents.
But a reassuring message came against the penguins. The Red and Black Bastards put together an impressive effort to beat Sidney Crosby & Company 5-2.
“It was a very important game for us, we really wanted to finish this road trip by beating a class opponent,” said Jesper Pratt as we reached him after the final whistle.
– We were responsible for a well-executed game in Portet, especially in the third period, when we really had possession of the game and were keen to get two points.
Also then, in the final period, Jesper himself smashed a merciless direct shot on a pass from superstar Jack Hughes – finally returning from the injury that had kept him out of the lineup since the start of the month.
– It was so much fun when Jack was on the ice again, continues Bratman.
– He did a lot for our attack with his intelligence, you can clearly see that, for example, when passing to my goal.
