Earlier this week, Sportbladet revealed that AIK and Portuguese club SC Braga had agreed to sell 20-year-old Joe Mendes.
An attacking full-back is now offered by the club.
It’s good that everything is ready now. I just want to put my shoes on and start playing. Braga was very keen on me and devised a plan that made me feel safe and they believed in me so strongly, it made me feel safe,” Mendes says.
The full-back impressed early last season at AIK with his attacking qualities and quickly attracted interest from foreign clubs.
Italian AC Monza has been involved in negotiations for a long time, but the choice finally fell on Braga, who paid about 25 million for the full-back.

– They are really excited to be joining a big team and a good league where you can develop exponentially. He says I am really looking forward to it.
There were four specific clubs interested in Mendes and that suited him well. Agent Hasan Kilic says the simple answer to why we chose Braga is the sporting project for him.
There have been 24 appearances for Joe Mendes at AIK and the 20-year-old was humble as he had a chance in the starting eleven when Mikael Lustig was injured in the spring.
– I am grateful to have joined a club like AIK, they immediately gave me confidence and supported me a lot, which resulted in me getting the opportunity and taking advantage of it, he says.
