Lukas Bengtsson: “It’s a lighter fluid”

Players spoil it.
– It’s plastic, bad culture and all. Joel Pearson says: You don’t have to worry so much.
The Växjö Lakers were founded as recently as 1997 and moved to the SHL in 2011, which pundits like to point out.
Now they are two wins away from SM’s fourth gold. The score was 1-0 at Skellefteå after a close game. In fact, no team has shot fewer shots (11) and won a World Cup final.
– Today is not beautiful and exciting. It’s a bloody war. We fight for each other and help Emile (Larmie) in goal which is great,” says star defender Joel Pearson.
“People love to think and think.”
He says to those who complain about the value of entertainment:
– I don’t know, maybe they’re on a globe instead in this case. We play hockey to try to win. We don’t take any responsibility for playing beautifully, it’s about winning and we’ll do that tonight.
How much do you care about what people think of your gameplay?
– Actually something. But it is clear that people like to think and think. You have to live with that, I couldn’t care less anyway.

Hundreds of Växjö supporters left the first final midway through extra time to watch the Växjö Vipers floorball team become a huge talking point. Lukas Bengtsson gives his view on the matter:
– People can do whatever they want, every adult. Then if the families go home or if they go to a globe, everyone has their own choice. I stayed and checked out an accessory, says Växjöbacken, but some people wanted to check it out (internal bandy).
It ignores the fact that Växjö has become a bit of a “minced chicken” for Swedish hockey.
– You usually hack when things are going well for people, that’s usually the case. You can just laugh at it and use it as a lighter fluid.
In parallel with the victory of the Växjö Lakers, the Växjö Vipers lost their seventh and decisive SSL semi-final against Storvreta with a score of 3-4.
Sad that they lost. Of course it’s fun for the city when things are going well in all sports, says Bengtson.
