Johann Garbenlov associated with sharks in San Jose

According to famous journalist Elliot Friedman, “Garpen” is one of the options for taking on the position of general manager of San Jose Sharks.

– Someone told me that there was an international candidate who played with sharks before. Friedman says it’s Johann Garbenlov.

Former captain of the national team Johann Garbenlove Time at Tre Kronor hasn’t been a success story.

In the 2019/20 season, he took over coaching, remained without medals in the World Cup and in the Olympics, then left after the season.

He’s 54 now for a new senior job – in the NHL.

In the podcast revealed by Jeff Marek, hockey journalist Elliot Friedman considered Garpenlöv to have sailed as an alternative to take over as general manager at San Jose Sharks.

– Someone told me that there was an international candidate who played with sharks before. This is Johann Garbenlove. He’s been captain of Sweden’s national team and people have told him that if they’re looking for international candidates, he’s one connected to the club, says Friedman.

Garbenlove played for San Jose between 1991/1992 and 1994/1995 and scored 132 points in 184 games before leaving for the Florida Panthers.

Ray Whitney, Scott Nichol, Kevin Weekes and Mike Grier have also been linked with a GM job.
