It’s been half an hour for John Gedetti in his marathon match against Örebro.
But the plan is for the superstar to be able to start against Kalmar.
– There is plenty of time. The new acquisition says it feels great.
There is only one week left for Allsvenskan to start again after the summer holidays. In the last training match against the identical Örebro AIK All 25 players.
The match was played 3×45 and only Jon Guidetti was substituted in the last half hour. The new possession earned a straight free kick after Sebastian Larsons put in a superb pass, but was annihilated by the referee for offside.
– I didn’t think it looked like an offside and then it’s either a goal or a penalty, but there’s no VAR in Allsvenskan, so you have to breastfeed. But the most important thing is to get the rhythm, feel the blast, go deeper, find the run and get it right, says Gedetti who created several stances and was happy after the match.
– I felt relaxed and fun. He’s been close a few times, but the most important thing is that I’m making a lot. I’ve played 45 minutes in total now and created an incredible amount in those 45 minutes. It’s a very positive feeling.
“Plenty of time”
Gedity is ready to play in AIK starting July 15th. This means he could make his first match in an AIK shirt against Kalmar at Friends Arena two days later.
– 28 days left. There is plenty of time. it’s a wonderful feeling. The coach says how much I have to play. I feel ready and could have played more, but it may be important to speed up slowly so I don’t have any setbacks.
The plan is to be able to start against Kalmar?
– I want to try to be eligible to start, the decision is up to the coach.
Nicholas Stefanelli gave AIK the lead half an hour after William Esklinen hit the ball straight into the attacker’s arms who can press 1-0.
“Both Positive and Negative”
Orebro equalized shortly before the end of the first half after Jake Larson crossed the AIK defense line. The end went through the back of Alexander Milosevic and entered the goal.
Then AIK replaced large parts of the starting eleven in the second half. Eric Ring had two good chances to strike back, but the home team goalkeeper was simply unbeatable. Instead, Ring became the leading scorer in the third game after pulling the ball across the crossbar. Then Joe Mendes increased it to 3-1.
The match finally ended with a score of 3-2.
It was somewhat positive and somewhat negative. When we do it well, we stress and create situations, the negative thing is that we rarely do. Orebro is doing really well, we might be a little lower and adjust to it. “Now we’re under 75 percent pressure all the time and so it’s hard to play,” says Michael Lustig.
