The report said Older Brother John, who plays in Lakesand, was suspended for removing the assistant referee’s hand in the match against Fakshaw last Saturday. The SHL has zero tolerance for physical contact with league referees. In this case, the contact was described as “relatively light” and the disciplinary committee decided to suspend Leksandspelaren for one match.
Quinville does not agree that he should be punished.
– What happened next and there’s a fucking joke. He told Vallo Corrien that it looks as if the disciplinary committee is trying to convince people that what happened was a quarrel or assault, noting that he pulled his arm away.
‘Extremely concerned’
The 26-year-old Canadian pays tribute to supporters of the league, stadiums and teams. The SHL is believed to be the second best league in the world after the NHL.
– But then we have this group (the operating room and the disciplinary board) that decides the referees. It’s a disgrace to the entire league, unfortunately. Quinville says they are hypocrites.
He is critical of how the Situation Room and Disciplinary Board operate.
– They are a group of people sitting away from sports and ice. They have decided that they want to radically change the sport and that is very worrying.
The next time the Quinville brothers get a chance to confront each other, it’s on December 3rd.
