JT Miller signs giant new contract with Vancouver Canucks

Elias Peterson gets a teammate at the Vancouver Canucks.

The team’s leading scorer GT Miller now remains with the club.

The 29-year-old has signed a new seven-year contract – worth 602 million Swedish kronor.

Elias Peterson had a slightly heavier season last year and by his standards he scored “only” 68 points during the season. The team’s top scorer was instead GT Miller with 99 points in 80 games.

But he has only one year left on his contract with the American Vancouver Canucks Which was a cloud of concern for the club. Now everyone can exhale.

The club announced during Saturday night that the 29-year-old had signed a new seven-year contract, with a total value of SEK 602 million.

His production last season speaks for itself and he will remain an important part of this team for many years to come, Swedish general manager Patrick Alvin tells the club’s website.

It will be the second best paid

However, the new salary continues to apply as of the 23/24 season, meaning Peterson, who has two years on his contract, remains the best salary in Vancouver.

If he signs a new contract, he is also expected to increase his salary significantly and become one of the highest paid players in the entire league.

But with Miller’s future in place, Alvin can continue to build the team in pursuit of the Stanley Cup, as captain Bo Horvat’s position remains to be resolved when he becomes an unrestricted free agent next summer.
