Kepa Arrizabalaga, 28, stole Danny Ings, 30, from the equaliser.
The Chelsea goalkeeper saved with a big header from close range.
– How does that fit? asks commentator Henrik Strömblad on Viaplay Radio.
Aston Villa’s chances weren’t missed. However, the goals did. Mason Mount scored the two goals of the match and Chelsea won 2-0 away.
The London side took all three points, and they can thank their goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga and Aston Villa’s Tyrone Mings for that. The center back was responsible for a real call for Mount’s first goal.
Mings jumped into his penalty area to head the ball away. But the qualifiers were directed at his goalkeeper, and Mount thanked Mount for the gift with a direct volley into the net.
– So you can’t clean up there. So you shouldn’t act out there at all when you have to be a solid center back, says commentator Henrik Stromblad on Fiablay.
Arrizabalaga wall act
Chelsea were under pressure at times and Aston Villa created dangerous opportunities to score.
Arrizabalaga was sweating and stole from Danny Ings, among others, the equalizer in the 31st minute.
From close range, Ings got his forehead on the ball. Arrizabalaga moved quickly and at the same time threw himself backwards to save the ball that was on its way to the roof of the net.
– How does that fit? This rescue, says Henrik Stromblad, is world-class.
Mount’s 2-0 goal, which decided the final score, was made elegantly from a direct free kick into the goal.
