I think it’s exciting and fun and it will be interesting to see who is going forward. But you cannot rate a player based on just one match or 30 minutes. But if we could develop both teams and some players were really going forward, I would have been very happy, says Jan Anderson.

Comment: For players like Carlson and Ilanga, among others, Jan Andersson has changed his way of playing – he believes a lot in young strikers abroad. They’ve also been hot in their club teams, as well as Gudmundsson and Geocress. Cajuste also joins here despite being part of the national team for a while (but has only played 44 minutes in competitive international tournaments) and can be categorized into “Old Challengers” and “Troop Players” at the moment. But Cajost is young and injuries and club changes last year. Joel Anderson slips here as well as being the latest auditioned as Emile Kraft’s backup, unless Jan Anderson sees Edvin Kurtulus as a replacement there. Kraft has barely started all four games, so it’s likely more than just a jump in play for Joel Anderson.

Comment: Both Milosevic and Starvelt are likely to get a lot of playing time in the Nations League, but they are getting it mainly because of their acute midfield crisis. With Nilsson Lindelöf and Helander back this fall, they’ve ended up a bit in the queue again – if neither of them clearly surpasses Joakim Nilsson in these June matches. The midfield duo doesn’t belong to the young goalkeeper and he’s been prominent in the national team periphery for a while without Jean really believing in him. Nordfeldt finished second behind Olsen and in fact was the only player on the team in the 1980s.
