Linköping’s coach, Andre Geiglertz, is critical of the draw

The draw took place between three teams in the same group in the Swedish Cup.

Linkoping’s coach Andre Geiglertz then criticized the gameplay.

– It’s strange, he says.

In contrast to the men’s seeding system, the women’s are divided into geographical groups in the Swedish Cup.

The 16 teams were drawn into four groups, with two from northern Sweden and two groups with teams from southern Sweden.

This resulted in the top three teams from the Women’s League in 2022 – Rosengård, Linköping and Kristianstad – being placed in the same group as Alingsås of the Women’s League.

Before the Sportbladet ‘Obos Allsvenskan women’s best shoesbroadcast on Wednesday night, Linköping coach Andre Gigglertz gave his view on the draw.

It would be a really good challenge! You can say so, says the third-place coach with a smile.

“It has to be done differently.”

At the same time, Jeglertz is critical of the geographical structure.

– It should be possible to do it another way. I don’t know how, but it’s strange that the first, second and fourth teams in the Women’s League finish in the same group. I wonder about that.

Wouldn’t that be mathematically fair?

– I don’t know what is fair in this way. But I think it gets weird.

– If you want to win the Swedish Cup, you have to beat all the teams. But there should be a reasonable level of collections. They may not be perfectly even, but they should still be relatively even.

Do you think it should be reviewed for next year?

– I think so. clearly!

“I understand that it is difficult, but…”

Champion team FC Rosengårds Coach Rene Sligers has indicated that they have some tough games ahead of them.

If you want to win something, you have to win everyone, as we usually say. She says: We get good and challenging matches that can be developed early in the season.

Jeglertz and Slegers understand the financial side of the system.

– The clubs decided this together, so we have to start from that. We can’t criticize it here and now, but you can review it again and maybe you have a higher level of demand for the clubs finances. If you want to be at the highest level, maybe you should have higher demands on the resources and finances of the clubs? Slyers asks.

– I understand that it is difficult, but can we find a way? More central money? Can we possibly reduce the number of teams? Can we claim another way? And you conclude that someone else needs to think about this.
