After being sidelined with injury issues all season, Jonathan Augustinson made a comeback last weekend when he came in in the 82nd minute against Haugesund.
But only seven minutes passed on the field for Rosenborg before the accident occurred. Augustinson’s operation had to be performed on a stretcher after he injured his knee and an examination showed that the ACL had been torn.
– It was a very heavy message to receive, and I may need some time to process it. But he told the club’s website that I am aiming to come back stronger and better.
‘May be depressed’

At the same time I try to push him and motivate him. He has a lot left in his career. It will be tough for a month or so, but he will come back strong if he does the right things. You can get depressed at first, but then you have to look ahead. Life goes on and that’s part of football unfortunately.
Augustinson, who was ready to face Aston Villa in July, is yet to make his debut Premier League. But with Lucas Digne injured, the Swede is expected to get some playing time.
It has always been my dream to go to the Premier League. I knew it was a tough competition and that there might not be much playing time in the beginning. I think playing time will increase in the future, so I’m positive, says Augustinson.
