For health reasons, Chelsea boss Emma Hayes, 45, had to take a timeout.
The players on the team miss her.
– She has a special personality and is really noticeable when she’s not there, says Swedish captain Magdalena Eriksson.
Emma Hayes suffered from endometriosis and as a result had her hysterectomy removed. I made Chelsea with the Swedes Magdalena EricksonAnd the Zesera Mosovich And Jonah Ritting-Canried on the team, they had to cope without the 45-year-old on the sidelines.
I miss Emma and her character, Magdalena Erickson says.
I spoke to Hayes
Zisera Mosovic has been in touch with her club’s team coach, but wants to keep what they said to each other.
The Swedish goalkeeper said she was missing out on Hayes’ “big personality”.
It’s sad when someone around you doesn’t feel the best. In this case, she took a break to prioritize herself. But it would be nice to have it back. In the end, Mosovich says, the most important thing is for everyone to feel good.
Ericsson thanks his coach
Defender Ericsson has coached Hayes since joining Chelsea in 2017.
Emma has given me an incredible amount of confidence and has been part of a huge part of my footballing journey and has seen me grow as a person, a leader and a player. “We’ve been through a lot together and I want to thank her for so much,” says Erickson.
Soon the Swedes can get their coach back. The BBC reports that Hayes is on the mend and could lead the team beyond the current international break.
But despite the coach’s break, she didn’t completely walk away from the team.
– She was at the ear of our assistants during the matches and reviewed the training and participated in the tactical plan. Erickson says people felt her presence even though she wasn’t physically there.
A good start to the WSL for Chelsea
In Hayes’ physical absence, Chelsea have continued their strong start to the season. Six wins in seven World Series of Poker matches, and the London side have won two Champions League group stage matches so far.
– I’m proud and impressed with how we managed without Emma. It’ll obviously be fun for her to come back, says Erickson, and above all, she’s feeling fine.
General Manager Paul Green and assistant coach Dennis Reddy were responsible for managing Chelsea during Emma Hayes’ tenure.
