Malmö FF is on the verge of signing Taha Ali from rivals Helsingborg

Malmö FF may be on the verge of an unexpected deal with rivals Helsingborgs IF.

According to Sportbladet’s information, MFF wants to sign Taha Ali – as the first contact should already be made.

Taha Ali was recruited to Helsingborgs IF from Örebro SK before the previous season. Then he signed a contract until 2025. But the player was so open that he would prefer to play as high as possible after leaving Helsingborg for Allsvenskan. And now it looks like there could be a move for arch-rivals Malmö FF. According to Sportbladet’s info, MFF is working on signing Ali from Skånerivalen Helsingborgs IF. Both parties are now negotiating and MFF hopes to strike a deal with the player within the next few weeks, although nothing is entirely clear yet.

Nothing is ready or signed yet

Two other top clubs in the Allsvenskan are interested as well as a couple of foreign clubs, among which MFF is a rival, but for now, Malmö FF is on top, even if nothing is ready or signed yet.

Sportbladet had previously written about MFF’s priority signings and was there, among others, about signing a fast and technical winger between the ages of 21 and 25, which suited Taha Ali well.

The midfielder has scored three goals and made two appearances for Helsingborgs IF in 2022. Malmö FF has just announced that Jo Inge Berget will not be offered a new contract and Adi Nalic will be available for Hammarby on Thursday, when he is expected to sign for Bagen.
