“Sandberg got a game due to an unfortunate situation where he immediately apologized for what happened…and now this? No player in the league does something like this on purpose. All respect to our judges. They are fine. But this is too bad!”, Budas wrote on Stand X .
I didn’t hear the judge
Lundin was banned for three matches today for colliding with the linesman in Thursday’s match against Örebro.
The Disciplinary Committee made its assessment based on the available camera angles and through the player’s testimony.
However, the judge in question was not heard.
– In this case, the operating room is the reporter and the other party is the player. One can imagine that it would be theoretically interesting to hear from the judge. But that is not the arrangement. In this case, it is difficult to see what he would add. This question is about judging the player’s intent. And it must be judged by what we see ourselves in the film. We have evaluated the matter and considered that it is a crime punishable by law,” says Johan Nordin, head of the disciplinary committee.
Unified decision
The decision also states that Lundin showed indifference to the situation by not noticing any incident afterward.
If he showed more humanity, do you think the punishment could be lighter?
– No, I don’t know about humanity… But how do you behave in a situation when you run over a referee? I’m not saying this is the only circumstance but it is one circumstance out of everything we are looking at. What happens in the situation immediately before the collision. What did he do immediately after he went to power? It has a certain meaning, which is what we write.
So far this season, what is the toughest issue you’ve brought to the table?
– Well, I don’t know that. Maybe I don’t think so. The decision was unanimous and of course we discussed for a while and looked at different things that I can’t go into. But it is clear that there are issues that need to be discussed, and this has already happened, concludes Noureddine.
