Marcus Danielson is ready to play Dorgarden

Marcus Danielson is ready to return to Djurgården.

Stockholmsklubben has now made the 2019 Team Captain and Gold Champion.

– it’s a wonderful feeling. It has always been my thought and ambition to return to Djurgården, Danielson tells the Djurgården website.

After the 2019 Swedish Gold Championship left Marcus Danielson Djurgården for Dalian.

Now the 33-year-old has broken his contract with the Chinese club and is back at Djurgarden again, which was previously revealed by Sportbladet.

Following a photo on social media that hinted at Danielson’s return, the former captain and gold champion was finally introduced at 7pm on Monday night.

– it’s a wonderful feeling. It has always been my thought and ambition to return to Djurgården and now all the pieces are in place. It feels great to be back, Danielson says in a press release.

Danielson is back in teams

Marcus Danielson previously trained with Djurgården to continue working through the spring. The shape is believed to be “relatively good”.

– I will start training with the team tomorrow, Tuesday, and we will make a plan for me. I have been in contact with the fitness team for the past 10 days or so and have received a training schedule from them during that time so that I can prepare as well as possible. Then we’ll increase my training and after that we’ll see how quickly I can get involved in playing matches, he says.

During his previous stay at the club, he scored 52 matches for the Allsvenskan team and six goals. When he returns now, a tough competition with Hjalmar Ekdal and Isak Hien awaits him.

– Yes, it is very difficult. Danielson says that Isaacs and Hjalmar, who did more than play, did very well.

“Keep in touch”

Danielson’s contract is valid for 3.5 years, over the course of the 2025 season.

We are very proud and happy that we have reached a long-term solution with Marcus. We’ve been in touch since Djurgården left for Dalian and it’s been a tough time for Marcus in recent months. The most natural thing for him was to come back to us after his contract expired, but he’s now arriving a little earlier than planned, which we’re pleased with, says sporting director Bos Anderson.
