Martin Olsson Close to Expansion with Malmö FF

This is a message of joy to Malmö FF.

According to Sportbladet information, left-back Martin Olsson is close to extending his contract with the club.

The parties agree orally that the player remains with the club.

That was in August last summer Malmo FF National team defender recruited Martin Olson From BK Hacken. The transfer fee came to just over 3.5 million Swedish kronor, with Häcken receiving another million after the MFF qualified for the Champions League group stage.

– It was a good talk with Häcken, they were very good all the way through and in the end we found a solution. Then-MFF athletic director Daniel Andersson said in a press release that Martin was clear he wanted to come here if possible.

Soon free to negotiate with another club

The contract was then written until 2022, so Olson will be free to negotiate with the club he wants on July 1, and he will also be able to sign a so-called pre-contract and then leave for free at the end of the year.

But now Sportbladet can reveal that Martin Olsson is close to expanding with Malmö FF.

Orally agree to the contract

The parties have long discussed and orally agreed on a framework for a new contract. The exact length of the contract does not tell Sportbladet, but it is quite clear that the 34-year-old will remain in Malmö at least beyond 2023. Malmö FF is expected to transfer the extension with the blue-yellow gear within the next few weeks.
