Mika Zibanejad Has Been Sued – Property Could Be Forfeited

Mika Zibanejad and his brother Munir Kuljoum stepped in as guarantors when the CEO of the Brudernas restaurant chain, Joachim Wiklander, applied for business credit.

But the loan debt has not yet been repaid.

Now the brothers risk having their homes confiscated, Expressen newspaper reported.

It is the company’s financier Aros Capital that filed a lawsuit with the Naka District Court.

In total, four people and one company are being sued.

Two of those people are New York Rangers star Mika Zibanejad and Munir Kuljoum, who stepped in and invested in hamburger chain Brödernas, Expressen reports.

Mortgaged real estate

Zibanejad and Kalgum are included in the lawsuit because they chose to mortgage their properties as collateral for a loan obtained by the brothers’ CEO Joachim Wiklander.

Wiklander’s loan has not yet been repaid. According to Expressen, SEK 4.5 million of debt has not yet been repaid.

The lawsuit states that the defendants contested the payment obligation and the parties discussed the possibility of reaching a settlement, but failed.

Did not answer

The brothers’ properties are said to be worth three and five million kroner respectively, and if the amount is not paid, the other party could claim it.

None of the defendants responded to the summons, which was sent by letter on September 14. They have received a reminder and the next step is for the local court to send a soldier to deliver the summons to them personally.
