Mikael Forsberg has left his position as sporting director and head coach of SDHL’s Luleå Hockey.

Today, Mikael Forsberg, who has played dual roles in the past four seasons, announced that he is resigning.
– I had a great time with Luleå Hockey / MSSK as it has been a pleasure working with humble and passionate athletes of absolute world class. It’s been tough with the dual roles of athletic director and coach. So I chose to take my family into account and then made that decision, the 45-year-old says in a statement.

I understand that it is not best if it happens in the middle of the season. But based on the fact that we have a well-running business and overall strong leadership, I’m convinced it’s the best solution for both my family and my team.
I’m looking for an alternative
Stefan Enbaum, chief executive of Luleå, says the club has begun work on a solution.
