But when they beat Washington last night, it was Jonas Broden who scored an ordinary technical goal.
– It was probably the best thing I’ve done in the NHL, says the 29-year-old from Värmland to Sportbladet after winning 4-2.
Thirteen minutes into the second period of the fight between the Wild and Capitals in the US capital, defender Jonas Broden decided to show that there is an artist in him too.
He grabbed the puck from behind the home team’s chest and then skated in a wide arc across the entire attacking area before converting from a backhand to a forehand and hitting a sharp shot behind Charlie Lindgren.
– Yeah, it’s probably the nicest thing I’ve done in the NHL, it’s there anyway, says Jonas when we catch up next.
– It happened to be my first time of the season and it was good to finally share it. But above all, I’m glad we won.
Because the Wild did, 4-2, despite starting small.
– Yes, we were a little tired then. But Philip Gustafsson saved us with his game in the penalty area, Bacon continues.
He’s been great all season. I didn’t know much about him before he came here last fall, but now I admire him all the time, both in training and in matches. He’s very calm.
