New York. Modu’s long-awaited breakthrough in the SHL does not make Ångermanland shiver with ecstasy.
Even in parts of North America, there are ecstatic cheers.
– I have no words for how happy I was for Ö-vik, says Victor Hedmann, for example, when we got to him in Tampa shortly after the final whistle at Hägglunds Arena.
Victor Hedman himself got out of the Stanley Cup playoffs with his Tampa Bay Lightning team less than a day before the seventh game between Modo and Djurgården and after three consecutive finals, of which they won twice, of course it was very painful.
But the success of his parent club in his hometown on the other side of the Atlantic seems to have been a balm on the wounds, because the star back from Fäbodvägen looks very happy when we get in touch just as SHL promotion has been secured.

– I watched all the matches on TV and it was very nervous and exciting, especially when they led 3-1 in the series and then came close a lot of times.
