Vernamo. Sid Haksapanovic was there and watched Djurgården play 0-0 in Varnamo.
The midfielder is still without a club and on Thursday the transfer window closes in Sweden.
– We’ll see, he says about the future.
Suddenly, some of Djurgarden’s substitutes turned on the bench before kick-off in Varnamo and waved towards the stands.
For behind them in the stands they saw a familiar face: Mr. Haksapanovich.
The midfielder played his last game for Djurgarden on May 29 and his contract with the league leaders expired on June 30.
Since then, Haksapanovic has been without a club as he suspended his contract with Russian Rubin Kazan.
And on Thursday, the Swedish transfer window was closed and a certain hope of a comeback may have been sparked among Djurgarden’s supporters when Haksapanovic appeared at Wienvedsvalen in Varnamo.
Train with Halmstad
Haksapanovic is somewhat uptight about the future when Sportbladet gets to have a short chat with him during the break.
– I have nothing to say now, unfortunately.
He trained with his former club Halmstads BK last week.
– But now I’m training alone.
Djurgården also managed to do well without Haksapanovic.
– Things are going well for them now. They have already started both in Allsvenskan and in Europe. He says it’s fun.
No return there?
– we will see.
What do you want to happen?
– we will see.
Is it something close?
– we will see.
Do you think you will play in Sweden this fall?
– we will see.
Boss does not believe in the return
Bossi Anderson, Durgarden’s sporting director, doesn’t think it’s great to have Haksapanovic there.
– It’s normal. He is now at home in Halmstad which is only 1.5 hours away. Of course he will come and check. He knows his teammates.
But Super Boss eliminates any hope for supporters of the teams that Haksapanovic will return home too quickly.
– I am fully aware of his situation. I don’t think Djurgården is an option. There are certainly other options that will be considered. It’s a difficult position in it. It’s important to find an environment in which he can play football at least until July 1 next year, Anderson says.
