Another player has come forward and accused former NHL Chicago Blackhawks video coach Brad Aldrich of sexual assault.

The former player also accuses the club – which was fined several million in a similar case – of inaction.

A lawsuit alleging sexual assault committed by former Chicago Blackhawks coach Brad Aldrich was filed Thursday by a law firm, the Chicago Tribune reported. The client, a former Chicago Blackhawks player, is anonymous.

This is the second time in two years that Aldrich has been accused of abuse. In 2021, former player Kyle Beach said in a television interview that the video coach molested him when he was 20 years old, and that he drugged himself with alcohol and drugs to suppress the memories.

An independent investigation subsequently showed that several leaders on the NHL team did not act when Beach told about the abuse in 2010. That led to, among other things, the resignation of Chicago general manager Stan Bowman and then former coach Joel Quenneville, who later left his team. Current job in Florida. The NHL also fined Chicago $2 million.

The lawsuit filed now describes similar violations by the same executive and alleges that Chicago Blackhawks management “demonstrated indifference and/or willful disregard for the safety of its employees including the safety of the unidentified player.”

The Chicago Blackhawks told the newspaper that they did not want to comment on the latest lawsuit. However, the club says it takes allegations of inappropriate workplace behavior seriously, and notes that it investigated what happened in 2010 two years ago.
