Another modest effort from AIK.
Another loss for points against a bottom team.
The way AIK plays now, nothing suggests that the team should have anything to do with a major battle.
John Gedetti described the loss against Varberg as a real problem. Mikael Lustig thinks the effort in losing 0-2 last weekend was unacceptable.
Against Degerforce, the team was supposed to return the honor. Reclaim your confidence, get three points before breaking the much-needed national team AIK and keep the dreams of making something big alive.
It has started well. AIK lined up well with chances in the first half, and advanced according to plan through Vincent Hill after 12 minutes of play.
There and then it looked as if AIK was going to get three points fairly easy this evening. However, the score was only 1-0 in the first half, and AIK sometimes showed very good inclinations in the offensive game. But even so, there was a lot of neglect. There are a lot of wrong lanes so the black and yellow wire feels really safe.
And when Degerfors scored 1-1 at the start of the second half, the air was blown out of the home team. It was curious to see how Ike, with so many experienced players on the squad, was affected by the seriousness of the moment. It was as if the entire team building in black and yellow was idle. Admittedly, some half-chance is here and there, but there is no ultimate impact or any massive pressure against the Degerfors. He is therefore in the qualified position. It is clearly far from approved.
Diggerforce who attacked and grabbed the ball…
AIK was given one last chance to flop with signing Zack Elbouzedi, but he burned the designated position in the penalty area, and it was also Degefors who came closest to winning when they burned an open goal in the last second of the match, with Axel Björnström somehow managing to steer the ball wide on the goal line.
Before that, there was also a touching scene in the 82nd minute, when parts of the Friends Arena cheered “We want to see AIK” While it was Degerfors who attacked and took possession of the ball.
No, the way AIK is playing now doesn’t indicate anything at all for the team to have anything to do with the top three. The way the team is doing, they can be happy if they can get to the top five when we recap in November. The hope is that John Guidetti will have time to recover from his injury during the national team break and that the team will have time to regroup as the next match will not be played until October 2, when the team will meet Sirius away from home. There is no doubt something to think about until then for both players and leaders at AIK.
Diggerforce then?
They don’t need to be ashamed of this point. If they had millimeters with them, they could leave the place by three points. Now they have to settle for a draw and the team has advanced to the qualifying zone. I think you might be very happy with that anyway.
