New calendar for F1 2023

Monaco remains in Formula 1. Three races in the United States and a return to China. Here is the F1 2023 race calendar.

Before the 2022 Formula 1 season ends, there will now be a calendar for F1 2023. It will be a calendar with 24 races, a season that already premieres at the beginning of March and runs until the end of November.
– We are pleased to be able to offer a calendar for F1-2023 with 24 races around the world, says Stefano Domenicali, chief executive of F1.
There is an unprecedented demand for Formula 1 and it is important that we strike the right balance for the entire sport.

He talks about the mix between popular tracks in Asia, Europe and the USA, as well as exciting new tracks like Las Vegas where F1 returns after more than 20 years of absence.

Then, during 1981 and 1982, the competition was decided in a parking lot outside Caesars Palace, and now the competition will be decided on the city’s track that, among other things, spans the famous Las Vegas strip. Also note that the race in Las Vegas is scheduled for Saturday.

This means that Formula 1 will have three races in the US in 2023, there will be four in the Middle East and races will be held on historic tracks such as Spa and on the streets of Monaco. In addition, F1 2023 will not compete with the classic 24 Hours of Le Mans that takes place June 10-11, while F1 has made some changes such as moving the Baku Grand Prix to April, the Spanish Grand Prix taking place in June, the Belgium GP in July and American racing spreads in May, October and November.

Note that the French Grand Prix is disappearing and there is of course a question mark behind the Chinese Grand Prix, as the Covid situation may affect the race.

Tips

In today’s episode of Plattan i Mattan we start reviewing all the drivers on the field and how they got into Formula 1. When the race isn’t a weekend, we have to come up with something else and this is the first in a series of fairly timeless programmes. Welcome to the listening group.

Earlier this week, I also published a post about rumors, contracts and F1 2023 drivers.

Marcus Ericsson is already ready for the Porsche Carrera Cup final, and he is now joined by Felix Rosenqvist. This means that both Swedish superstars will compete in Mantorp Park on October 1.

Joel Granfors gets the chance to test the FIA Formula 3 in Jerez, Spain. The Swede, who is in the fight for the British GB3 title, tests Karelin from Wednesday to Friday.
