NHL to Sweden 2023 – Here are the games at Avicii Arena this fall

New York. An NHL party awaits this fall in Stockholm.

The Toronto Maple Leafs, Detroit Red Wings, Minnesota Wild, and Ottawa Senators will all play series games at Avicii Arena in November.

– It will be incredibly fun, says Toronto star William Nylander to Sportbladet.

It’s been four years since the world’s top hockey league sent two teams – the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Buffalo Sabers – to Sweden for two series games in what is known as the “NHL World Series”.

But now it’s time again and this time you’ll experience Stockholm’s pure NHL carnival.

Up to four teams will compete two games apiece at the Globe, or Avicii Arena as it is now called, over four days in November.

Strong ties with Sweden.

Classic Original Six The Toronto Maple Leafs and Detroit Red Wings are joined across the Atlantic by the Minnesota Wild and Ottawa Senators.

– I was very excited when I learned that next season we will play at home in Stockholm, says Toronto star William Nylander.

The Maple Leafs have strong ties to Sweden with the likes of Börje Salming, Mats Sundin, my current team mates and more. It will be incredibly fun.

“Lill-Nyllet” is certainly not the only Swede who will be showing off in his homeland during this remarkable NHL event. Kali Jarnkrock, Timothy Lillegren, Erik Gustafsson, and Erik Kalgren also play for the Maple Leafs.

Wild became a Swedish colony

In the Detroit Red Wings – which also have historical ties to Sweden – there are young stars Lucas Raymond, Jonathan Berggren, Simon Edvinson, Elmer Soderblom and Gustav Lindstrom, as well as the scarred Robert Haag. And this spring the Minnesota Wild became Swedish ice hockey’s new colony with Jonas Broden, Joel Eriksson Ek, successful goalie Filip Gustafsson, Jon Klingberg, Marcus Johansson, Gustav Nyquist and Oscar Sundqvist (however, the last four play on expired contracts, so how many of them will return this fall remains to be seen) . While Ottawa got into a fight with defender Erik Bernström and goalkeeper Anton Forsberg.
