Since the Toronto Maple Leafs left the Stanley Cup playoffs, there has been speculation about whether William Nylander will come to the World Cup. There have been many hints that the megastar was on his way, but the announcement has been delayed — until now.

When asked if this meant Nylander would not appear, Hallam replied that:

Sam Hallam also didn’t want to go into detail if there were bumps in the road with Nylander.
It’s a process with different parts that it’s hard for me to go into exactly. We’ve picked the line we don’t comment on the why, if and how, but different parts come into play. We have come to a decision now and here on the site we have started the tournament very well and we feel safe. The group dynamic sits more each day and then sends us that we’re here and we’re not waiting for anything — it’s just full throttle that applies, he says.
William Nylander, one of the golden champions of the 2017 World Cup, had the best points season of his career. In 82 regular season NHL games, he grabbed 87 points, split between 40 goals and 47 assists.
