Hjalmar Ekdal is new to the national team, for sure.
But the question is whether Noel Sild is Djurgårdsfansen’s biggest favorite at the moment after one of Allsvenskan’s most talked about photos of the year.
– It looks good, says the nine-year-old.
On Saturday, Noel Seld turns 10. He already knows he’s going to get a gift. A new painting for his son’s room – on himself and Magnus Ericsson.
It’s no ordinary photo of a nervous boy posing with Djurgaardsidol. Here the nine-year-old became the star.
He was carried by Michael Campanella of Beldeberan during the march to Djurgården’s house meeting with Malmö. Noel enters as the mascot with favorite Magnus Ericsson and then wears the Malmö shirt as usual. But when he goes out to Tele 2 Arena and sees Michael Campanella’s camera, he lifts his shirt and reveals Djurgård’s shirt.
“I didn’t notice”
– When it happened, I didn’t even notice it, so I focused on Magnus. It was only late in the evening when I was editing and I was going to post some additional photos I saw. Campanella says, it was great so I sent him.
He says he was a bit unsure if anyone would notice the photo in the massive image stream. But it went quickly before the photo went viral on social media. The Djurgården Järnkaminerna Supporters Association posted the photo on Instagram and it quickly became the most liked photo of the year with (at the time of writing) 6,300 likes.
Djurgardari wrote in the comments that Noel is the “iron stove of the year”, a “legend” and that the image should be tipho.
– It feels good, says Noel himself when we spoke to him after a practice session with the dev team with the boys born in 2012.
“I couldn’t resist”
He says he first saw the photo on Tuesday when my dad noticed it was starting to go viral on Instagram.
But it wasn’t as planned as it seems.
– He mostly came. I knew I was wearing a cute Djurgaard jacket underneath so I couldn’t help it.
How did you feel getting there in front of the crowded stalls?
– It was really fun. Mange and Jacob Wedel Zetterstrom are my two favorite players.
He says he sees almost all matches with Djurgården and in ten years he hopes to be able to step in as the left jockey for his favorite team.
– Yes, my dream is to play for Djurgorden.
