The league leader responds to criticism
Is Jan Anderson getting more “prickly” than before?
During the press conference before the meeting with Serbia, TV dossier Olof Lundh asked if the captain was feeling more pressure.
– I hope I don’t feel tingly in general because I don’t want to be. Then he said I will sharpen.
The press conference before the League of Nations meeting with Serbia was largely about the player rotation that the Swedish national team had to, and the new game model that raised questions.
When the 20-minute press conference had barely ended, the national team captain turned around Jan Anderson football journalist Olof Lundeexpert in TV4 and Fotbollskanalen.
– Do you think I’m prickly? On Friends, Jan Anderson said with a confused laugh as she walked out of the room.
The tone between him and the profile was good and they both laughed. But the reason for the national team captain’s surprise is that Olof Lunde, who has followed the Swedish national team since the 1990s, asked during the press conference Jan Andersson if he was under more pressure than before.
If you’ve been followed up during your time as captain of the national team, I’m testing that in the last year you could have been even more ferocious towards us. Do you feel like you’re feeling more pressure and pressure and that it’s important to stand up for yourself and the stats of the mob? Lundh asked.
Jan Anderson answered directly and in detail.
– If this is the 76th international match, there are more stats for the mob. I want to explain. I don’t hope to be seen as prickly because I absolutely don’t want to be. However, I want to answer and explain the questions.
– I’m a rational person. You or those who read what you write do not know the background as well as I do. Like this with Emil (Forsberg) and team emulation decisions. I am trying to explain it in a logical way.
I can have better and worse days, but I hope I don’t feel tingly in general because I don’t want to be. Then he said I will sharpen.
After the meeting, Olof Lundh developed his thoughts on Janne Andersson.
– I can be surprised that he himself did not notice that it became more difficult. I put the start of the 0-0 match against Spain at the European Championship premiere where he felt we didn’t understand it was a good result. After that, I think he was a bit more defensive and he jokes sarcastically and often says “with your sharp football eyes you’ll see that in ten minutes”, he said not to me but to many other journalists.
– I’m having a shift, I feel like maybe it’s more stressful. For five years he was the best in the world in communication and dealt with any problem. I think it turned out and I felt like I wanted to ask about it.
Olof Lundh points out, for example, when after Sweden’s victory over the Czech Republic in the World Cup qualifier this spring SVT reporter Johan Kokaslan asked the national team captain what he thought of the match and whether it would be enough against Poland. Then cut the league captain.
– I wonder if he thinks it’s fun. I feel more sensitive, Olof Lunde says.
Jan Andersson took charge of the Swedish national team after the 2016 European Championship and led Sweden to the 2018 World Cup and the European Championship last summer. The 2022 World Cup is the first tournament the national team has missed under Anderson’s leadership.
