A concussion forced him to end his career.

Oscar Sund, 35, is now back at HV71 – as Assistant Athletic Director and Scout.

– Says HV71 means a lot to me.

In an away match against Örebro on November 21, 2020, Oscar Sonde suffered a concussion for the third time in his football career.

That was his last match.

In an interview with Jönköpings-Posten earlier this summer, Sund said that concussions still characterize his daily life, that he gets headaches every day and sometimes “something escalates uncontrollably.”

“give me energy”

Now he returns to hockey in a new role.

HV71 – to which Sunde belonged for a total of nine years – appointed him as assistant sports director and scout.

This gives him an important role within the organization as the right-hand man for new sporting director Kent “Nuppen” Norberg.

– It feels so good. HV71 means a lot to me, and entering this environment again invigorates me and my family. I hope to contribute the experiences I have accumulated during my career and will do what I can to help “Nubben” and support the team, says the 35-year-old on the club’s website.

“Big High Voltage Heart”

Johan Lindbaum, director of the HV71 club, announced that Oscar Sunde will initially feel comfortable and operate at 25 per cent, with the ambition to increase the time after Christmas.

-He has a big HV heart and lots of hockey skills and would compliment “Nubben” in a good way, says Lindbom.
