Parents are outraged by the hockey club’s treatment – they are marked as drug addicts

Hockey club criticizes: it should apologize

In the search for drug addicts, the club singled out seven or eight suspected teenagers.

For Andreas, it was very offensive to end up on the list.

– I should get an apology, he says.

When the hockey club realizes the extent of their drug problems on their junior team, they call everyone’s parents. Directly, the administration explained that seven or eight of the teens had taken the drug’s clear crystal and that they would send urine samples to a clinic in the city as soon as possible.

How did they get to the list of suspects they kept secret? But the meeting ended with all the guardians finding out if their child was among those identified.

I didn’t see any payments

Ulrica was one of the mothers who had to leave the room while waiting to be called back.

– We stood outside and entered one by one. So everyone saw who returned quickly and who stayed longer. It was clear who the suspects were, and everyone could draw their own conclusions, she says, which is actually called something else.

Ulrica’s son was on the list, so she was asked to take her son to the reception. There, according to her, he tested negative.

– I could not immediately say that my son is innocent. He may also have been one of those who used drugs. But I was able to go through his phone and didn’t see any withdrawals or light payments that could have been drug purchases. Then the test result came back negative. He was angry. Who singled him out?

– Easy to get a character. The others don’t know what happened, Ulrica continues.

The mother contacted the club’s management to understand what they had planned. If the team has serious drug problems, why don’t we treat everyone the same? I reminded that the players are young and that this kind of signal is hard to deal with: your teammates can carry on as if nothing happened, but you yourself need to clear your name, knowing full well that the other parents have understood that you are in the club. List.

“I received no apology.”

Sportbladet spoke to two other parents who shared a photo of Ulrica. They believe such sensitive issues should be handled more carefully. Dividing the team into a suspicious group and a non-suspicious group only ruined the atmosphere between the players.

Sportbladet spoke to a player we call Andreas who was on the club’s roster. He doesn’t really share his club picture that has been circulating recently. Sure, a few players have substance abuse problems, he says, but the fact that a team moves from the top to the bottom of the table depends on much more than that. Poor organization. Excessive rotation of trainers. Bad atmosphere in general.

Andreas believes that the entire federation should take a look at the junior team. Review appropriate leaders and players who should continue to be trusted.

– I think it’s ugly to blame poor results on drugs, he says.

He has one more wish.

– If someone like me has been told that you are a suspect and there is no truth to it at all, you should get an apology. Because it’s really hard for others to spoil it for us. But I didn’t receive any apology.

The club does not want to answer any questions from Sportbladet, but the sporting director has previously said that they are doing their best to drug-free their association.

– We as a club will not let this go, but it is a work that will continue to move forward as it is our responsibility to secure a safe training environment.
