Pele’s coffin travels to the plaza and home of the 100-year-old mother

In Pele’s hometown of Santos, fans will be able to say goodbye to the icon for the last time.

His coffin will first be placed in the middle of Santos’ yard for two days before passing outside the home of Pele’s 100-year-old mother.

However, according to Brazilian media, mother Celeste Arantes is not healthy enough to get out of bed and say goodbye to her son.

After a long struggle with cancer, Pele slept for the last time, at the age of 82. Now he will be celebrated where his brilliant career began, his hometown of Santos in Brazil.

Pele represented Santos FC for 19 years, and lived most of his life in the city. The club’s supporters will be able to bid farewell to his casket when his casket is on Monday through Tuesday at the Villa Belmero stadium.

The club wrote in a press release that the coffin will be taken from the Albert Einstein Hospital in São Paulo to the arena and placed in the central circle before being taken to a private funeral.

On the way to the funeral, the coffin will pass on the street in Santos where Pele’s hundred-year-old mother lives.

But according to the Brazilian media, his mother, Celeste Arantes, is bedridden and not a clairvoyant, according to the Associated Press.
