According to The Athletic, he reportedly suffered a broken jaw and the injury is expected to keep the striker out of action for more than a month.
“Sunday night some violent cowards broke into our house and threatened my family and my kids, just to steal some things. They got my jaws broken but I’ll be back soon. It’s hard to comprehend and describe the feeling that we are no longer safe in our house, but the family will get over this and will be stronger than ever. Thanks. To you for all this attention, it means a lot to us,” Aubameyang wrote in a statement on social media.
Aubameyang, who moved from Arsenal to Barcelona last winter, may have already played his last game for the club.
Barcelona are said to be in intense negotiations with Chelsea over the striker’s transfer before the transfer window closes at midnight on Friday. However, it is unclear whether the injury affects a potential deal.
After the theft, Aubameyang’s wife reportedly alerted the police, but some people have not been arrested yet.
