Linköping was in full swing in home games during the fall.
Now the club wants to go a step further and play an SHL match in the legendary Stångebrohallen.

Linköping is in third place in the German Football League, and with the sporting awakening, the enthusiasm of the fans has been reignited.

During the spring, the club now wants to play an old-time SHL game on site in its former home arena.
– Nothing is ready at all, but there is a plan and an idea that we are working on achieving. Imagine experiencing a match in old Stånkan, with players in old jerseys, invited legends in the stands, and classic French fries with barbecue seasoning for sale, says Karl-Johan Stalhammar.
“Back to the origins”
Linköping moved up the league in 2001 and before the start of the season in 2004, it was clear that what was now called the Saab Arena was wall to wall.
Things that need to be resolved for the plans to succeed include getting the green light from sponsors, TV4 and the Etihad for an exemption to play without a jumbotron.

One supporter takes cues from Lars Wennerbäck on social media: “I think soul and heart are on the way back!”
“Hope they run with the old gentleman,” another person wrote. “There are at least 500 tickets left when the box office opens, so you’ll have to get in line a few hours early to get the right feel.”
Half the number of audiences
One difference is that the crowd capacity at Saab Arena is 8,190 spectators compared to 3,000 in Stångebrohallen.
Linköping currently ranks fourth in the SHL audience league with an average of 6,286 spectators.
Under the leadership of coach Klas Östmann, the team began to play ice hockey more fun than before.
In the last five seasons, Linköping has missed the SC playoffs with table positions 12-11-12-11-12.
