But it was worth it when Lucas Vazquez and Edir Militao were injured.
The Spanish Super Cup is set to be decided this week, with Real Madrid and Valencia facing each other in the first semi-final on Wednesday night.
The capital team did what it was, but it was an expensive ticket to the final.
“Don’t touch the ball – clear penalty”
Just before the break, Karim Benzema was kicked by Iray Kummert, and the referee pointed to the penalty spot.

The Ballon d’Or winner did as he usually does, scoring goals and putting Real Madrid in the driver’s seat. But the joy was short-lived as Valencia equalized 21 seconds into the second half.
Serious injuries to Real Madrid
An accident rarely comes alone. Within a few minutes, Real Madrid suffered two injuries. First Lucas Vázquez, who was out with a foot injury, then Eder Militao after he was shot in the head and became groggy.
The match went to extra time, and later a penalty shootout. There, Real Madrid showed great coolness and celebrated in the final when Thibaut Courtois saved Valencia captain José Gaia’s penalty kick.
The other semi-final match will take place on Thursday evening with kick-off at 20:00, where Barcelona will face Real Betis. The match will be broadcast on Sportbladet.
