The Spanish Football Federation has announced that it has received identical emails from 15 players threatening to sack the national team if federation captain Jorge Velda is not expelled, according to several media reports.

According to the Football Association, current players point to the fact that the current situation is affecting their mental health and well-being. However, the federation will not go to meet the players, as it considers that decisions regarding the role of the federation captain and coaching staff are outside the players’ power.
