Robin Olsen and Jennifer Falk won the Goalkeeper of the Year award

The Goalkeepers of the Year have been selected – and two familiar names have been hailed.

Robin Olsen and Jennifer Falk take home the award.

– It’s an honor, says Falk.

The TV show Football Year 2022 – where Swedish football’s biggest stars and their contributions will be celebrated – will be broadcast on Sportbladet.se on December 27th at 8pm.

But we can now announce the winners in the Goalkeeper of the Year category.

Robin Olsen from Aston Villa and Jennifer Falk from BK Hacken took home the award.

– It feels great and I’m very happy with this news. The Goalkeeper of the Year award is an absolutely amazing award, and I’m very proud to be nominated for it. Jennifer Falk, who received the award for the second time, says it is a great honor to receive the award.

Hicken was close to the double, but finished second in the Women’s League and Cup. Falk was a regular in the team and was named the best goalkeeper in the league for the third year in a row after the season.

– When I think back to the year, it was a year with many challenges, but mainly what I think of is the fall where we had a strong finish in the club team, and where I personally felt good about my own performance.

‘Challenging year’

Robin Olsen, the men’s goalkeeper of the year, has also won regular awards.

– It’s a very good feeling and it’s a great honor to be named the best goalkeeper for the seventh year in a row. He feels the same every time. But for me it also means an incredible amount every time I get to represent the national team, so a big thank you to everyone who has supported me this year, said the national team goalkeeper.

The justification highlights Robin Olsen’s efforts in the national team, which have also been at a consistently high level in 2022, although it has been a difficult year for the team in terms of results. Olsen looks back on the year.

– It’s been a challenging year for us in the men’s national team, with some results that didn’t go down well for us. At the same time, we’ve been through a lot together and hopefully we can become even stronger as a team for next year and the European Commission qualifiers, says Olsen and concludes:

Ending the year for the national team with a win in Malmö in front of the Swedish fans, friends and family was definitely one of the highlights of the year for me.
