Rögle beat Skellefteå – Söderström off the bench

Linus Soderström sat on the bench: “A surprise”

ÄNGELHOLM / Stockholm. Skellefteå goalkeeper Linus Söderström was stuck on the bench despite having two straight zeros.

Rögle then broke the goal drought, winning 5–2 and drawing in the quarter-finals.

Linus Söderström hit it all again in his last two matches against Rögle. But in the fourth quarter-final against Rogl, the goalkeeper – despite two clean sheets in a row – had to stand aside for Frans Tohima.

– It’s a very surprising decision. Linus closes the door on two games and is as good as it gets, says C More expert Niklas Wikegård.

In the first period, Rögle managed to break the goal drought when in-form defender Adam Engstrom made it 1-0 after 14 minutes of play.

But the equalizer only lasted a minute and a half when Måns Forsfjäll found the right spot.

Sandin Match Champion

Both teams scored a goal each in the second half in what turned out to be a difficult affair. But six minutes into the third term, Linus Sandin splashed a 2-3-2 for Rugel. That was enough – despite the real attack by Skellefteå in the end.

Rogl finally won 5-2 after two goals in an empty goal cage and now they are level in the quarter-finals.

– very important. We know Skellefteå is incredibly strong at home. It’s now flat, really fun,” says Linus Sandin in “Sea More.”

“still a good force”

The next match takes place in Skellefteå on Friday.

We try to get here in the end but we don’t get the reward we really want. We still have good power and it looks like we’re crushing them. We have to play a better game at home next time, Oscar Müller tells Sportbladet.

Linus Söderström kept two clean sheets in successive matches, but in the fourth quarter-final he was on the bench.
