Rosengård goalkeeper aims to eliminate his old team

Tejan Mika got off to a rough start after conceding six goals in last year’s Champions League qualifiers.

Of course, it was tough matches for us. For my part, I forgot about it, says the guard.

Now she wants to take the club out to Europe, by expelling her old team.

When Rosengard Steps towards the Champions League qualifiers, with a clear goal in mind: the group stage.

Last year it was the rematch against German Hoffenheim after losing at home 0-3, so it was not enough that the score 3-3.

“We met a very skilled opponent with high pressure,” said coach Renee Sligers.

Many changes

At the time, Sligers had just taken over as head coach after Jonas Edvall and a handful of national team players had left. Including Olympic gold medalist Stephanie Labe.

Australia goalkeeper Teijan Mika was new to the club and managed to play a match in the Women’s League prior to the Champions League qualifier against Hoffenheim.

Of course, it was tough matches for us. For my part, I forgot about it and just want to focus on this match, she says.

Aside from losing to Hoffenheim, Micah has participated and has only lost two matches since coming to Rosengard. Häcken last season and Hammarby the other week.

– Now I feel like I’ve joined the team and I’m comfortable in my role. As a team, I think we’ve improved and we can really take what we learned last year and put it into these matches. It is important not to take anything for granted.

Now Bran is waiting. An opponent similar to the teams Rosengard faces at home in the women’s league than Hoffenheim.

Set against the old club

For Teagan Micah, it’s going to be a little special. She began her European football career in Norway and it was from the club in Bergen, then called El Sandviken, that she was recruited to Rosengård.

– It seems like a long time ago to me, but it was fine 1.5 years ago. I only played there for two months but I have a lot of respect for the club and had a great time there. It would be fun to see some familiar faces.

Although Mika has some knowledge of his old club, Rosengård backed the opponent and sank heavily ahead of the first game in Bergen.

– I feel like my mind is boiling after all the meetings, Mika laughs and adds:

– There will be tough matches.

Before leaving for Norway, the coaching staff received a more thorough briefing than usual. However, Slegers doesn’t want to reveal exactly what they have presented.

– We’ve gone through some tactical matters in detail, but what exactly are we keeping to ourselves.

Brann has sold over 4,500 tickets for the meeting with Rosengård and the match takes place on the men’s ground, Brann Stadion

– It’s an herb. It’s a bigger square. It’s not their hometown, Sligers says, so it’s not an advantage for them.
