Abd al-Rahman al-Saidi has never faced Djurgarden in a derby.
But the 23-year-old knows how to score on the blue lines.
– I know exactly where to shoot, says the new acquisition of Hammarby.
The Stekhett derby awaits at Tele2 Arena this afternoon. Victory applies to Hammarby if the team wants to keep up with the battle for gold. On Monday, Team 08 were slapped in the face when they lost 4-1 to Norrköping, but the disappointment turned into a trigger for the derby according to Abdelrahman Saidi.
Everyone has extra motivation and hunger after this loss. You feel like there’s a derby underway, I try to answer all questions about it as simply as possible. The attacking midfielder says it could get worse if you answer with more arrogance.
How was the training week?
– We trained to hurt Djurgården, I can’t say why this was posted before the derby? The 23-year-old says with a laugh.
Do they have a lot of weaknesses?
– Certainly several.
Although the upcoming derby is Saidi’s first against Djurgarden, the 23-year-old has already damaged the team on Tele2 this season. At the Allsvenskan premiere, Saidi played for Degerfors and scored a goal for the visitors in a 3-1 loss.
– I know how to register in Djurgården, I know exactly where to pay.
‘There is more hatred for Djurgarden’
Saidi was ready to play for Hammarby on 15 July and has already started the away derby against AIK, but the meeting with Djurgården seems even more special.
– I actually think Hammarby-Dif is hotter. There seems to be more hatred for Djurgården, and you feel even hotter when you read what the fans are writing. It feels really special to play the derby again for me, says Saidi, promising the crowd a fast-paced match:
– It’s going to be really fun, there are two teams that are making a lot and want to move on, and a lot is going to happen. It will be a hot match and we are ready for that.
