New York. The season didn’t have time to even last a week, but it’s already a crisis in San Jose.
The Sharks lost their fourth game in a row last night – having conceded two goals in the space of two minutes when outnumbered, among other things.
“We have more personality than we show on the ice now,” Eric Carlson says after flopping against Chicago jumbo candidates.
That the Sharks of San Jose might be having a bit of a rough time this year, most observers already knew ahead of the season, they are, after all, in some form of a fresh start.
But the start exceeded – or rather less than – the darkest expectations.
It started with two straight losses to Nashville in Prague, continued with a stupendous one-on-one loss to Carolina Brent Burns yesterday, and culminated in a really miserable meltdown against Chicago at home in Sharktank last night.
And then it looked promising after the first period. Then they advanced 2-0, then Eric Carlson He scored his first goal of the season and played until the last.
