Take Sanneh She panicked when she reached the World Championships in Eugene earlier this summer without her bags, which had disappeared without a trace.
She was forced to borrow training and competition clothes and then had a poor final where she finished sixth.
Before the European Championships in Munich, she took the safe bet against the unknown and took her luggage with her on the flight.
– Yes, I never dared to check the bag. I just felt like I wouldn’t go back to this again, she says.
“I want my things”
She did not lose hope of recovering the bag that disappeared in the United States.
– I already sat down and called the airline yesterday, haha. You obviously want your stuff back. These are my favorite things in that bag.
What are your favorite things?
My favorite training clothes, my shoes, and a lot of other goodies. Hope it works, otherwise I’ll have to get new favourites.
“I was so tired”
After losing a medal in the restroom, Khadi Sania now steps into one of the European groups with more pressure from outside.
Then she chose herself to reject expectations.
– I was very tired after the European Championships and felt kind of: ‘Not now again’. When you feel like it, it’s no fun going and competing. You do not have this energy. Now I came here with no expectations at all. WC was my major this year, putting all the powder on. Right now I’m just trying to recharge and finish the season in a good way.
different mentality?
– Yeah a little bit like that. A calmer mind.
